Mr. van der Brook has been teaching piano for over 30 years.  He studied piano with Ola Krudener, Henry Harris (MSU), George Lucktenburg (ICA), and N. Jane Tan  & Seymour Bernstein (both Steinway Artists).  He holds both BA & MS degrees. His teaching Certification is from the American College of Musicians.  Member, National Guild of Piano Teachers and MTNA.  His students routinely win National and International Awards in the National Piano Playing Auditions.  In 2005, student Paul Kim won the Raissa Tselentis Bach International Scholarship Award.

He opened his Olympia studio in 1999, after teaching in Germany from 1989 to 1998.
